Otomate Ear Drop Reviews

Otomate is a combination medicine that is used to treat ear infections. It prevents the growth of the bacteria that cause infection in the ears. It also relieves the symptoms of inflammation such as redness, itchiness, and irritation.

Otomate is to be used as per the label instructions or as suggested by your doctor. This medicine must be applied only to the affected ear. Use it regularly to get the most benefit. The course of the medicine should be completed even if you feel better. You must wash your hands before administering the medicine. Do not use it more than the recommended dose.

Generally, this is a safe medicine. However, it may cause mild and temporary irritation in the ear. Consult your doctor if any side effects persist or worry you. If you experience any allergic reaction (rashes, itching, swelling, shortness of breath, etc.), you must seek immediate medical help.

Before using it, tell your doctor if you have an underlying disease or are taking medicines for any health condition. The medicines that are used externally usually do not get affected by other medicines, however, you should let your doctor know if you are taking any medicines to ensure safety. Ask your doctor for advice if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

How Otomate Ear Drop Works

Otomate is a combination of four medicines: Gentamicin, Clotrimazole, Betamethasone and Lidocaine which treat skin infections. Gentamicin is an antibiotic which kills bacteria by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Clotrimazole is an antifungal which stops the growth of fungi by preventing them from forming their own protective covering. Betamethasone is a steroid medicine. It blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy. Lidocaine is a local anesthetic which blocks pain signals from the nerves to brain thereby decreasing pain sensation.
