C-Nac is a prescription medicine used to treat symptoms of dry eyes. It lubricates the eyes helps in maintaining the moisture of the eyes. This way it provides temporary relief from burning and discomfort caused by dry eyes. It also reduces redness and swelling of the eye.

How C-Nac Eye Drop Works

C-Nac is a combination of three medicines: Carboxymethylcellulose, Glycerin and n-acetylcarnosine which treat dry eyes. Carboxymethylcellulose and Glycerin are lubricants. They work similar to natural tears and provide temporary relief from burning and discomfort due to dryness of the eye. n-acetylcarnosine is is an antioxidant which prevents the formation of cataracts in the eye.

How to Use C-Nac Eye Drop

This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the dropper close to the eye without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid. Wipe off the extra liquid.

Quick Tips

  • Stinging sensation may occur for 1-2 minutes. Notify your doctor if it persists for longer.
  • Your doctor has prescribed C-Nac to reduce dryness in the eyes.
  • Wait for at least 5-10 minutes before delivering the next medication in the same eye to avoid dilution of this medicine.
  • Wash your hands first before applying C-Nac. To avoid contamination, do not touch the dropper tip or let it touch your eye or any other surface.
  • Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute, immediately after putting the medication. This will prevent the medication from draining out. Try not to blink or rub your eye.
  • Make sure to use it within 4 weeks of opening the bottle.
