Moxicon K Eye Drop Reviews

Moxicon K is a combination of two medicines. It is used in treating infections of the eyes. It stops the growth of the infection-causing microorganisms. This way it relieves pain, itching, inflammation, discomfort, and irritation caused by the infection.

Moxicon K is strictly advised to use only in the eyes. Use it in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. Apply it only on the affected eye. You must wash your hand before administering the medicine. Do not use it more than the recommended dose.

It is generally safe, but it may sometimes cause eye discomfort, irritation, and burning sensation in the eyes on instilling. These effects are mild and go away with time. However, if they stay for a long duration, you should consult the doctor.

How Moxicon K Eye Drop Works

Moxicon K is a combination of two medicines: Ketorolac and Moxifloxacin which treat eye infections. Ketorolac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling) in the eye. Moxifloxacin is an antibiotic. It kills bacteria by preventing the bacterial cells from dividing and repairing.

How to Use Moxicon K Eye Drop

This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the dropper close to the eye without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid. Wipe off the extra liquid.

Quick Tips

  • Do not wear contact lenses until your infection clears up.
  • Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute, immediately after putting the medication. This will prevent the medication from draining out. Try not to blink or rub your eye.
  • Along with using Moxicon K, give a warm compress to your eyes to get relief from itching and burning sensation.
  • Eye infections can cause your eyes to become more sensitive to sunlight than usual. Wearing sunglasses may help to prevent this.
  • Take care to avoid spreading the infection from one eye to the other, and to other members of your family. Washing your hands regularly (particularly after touching your eyes) and not sharing towels or pillows will help to prevent the infection from spreading.
  • To avoid contamination, do not touch the dropper tip or let it touch your eye or any other surface. If it does, squeeze out two or three drops straightaway onto some tissue and rinse the tip with saltwater.
  • Use it twice a day (in the morning and the evening). If your symptoms are particularly severe, your doctor may suggest you use them up to four times a day.
  • Your doctor has prescribed Moxicon K to cure your eye infection and improve your symptoms.
