Myostat Gel Reviews

Myostat is used to relieve pain and reduce swelling in your joints and muscles. It can be used to treat various injuries, such as sprains, strains, and bruises. It can also be used for tendonitis (such as tennis elbow) and osteoarthritis.

Myostat may be used 2 to 4 times a day on the affected area depending on the severity of your condition. It should be applied slowly and evenly to the skin until it is rubbed in. Do not use it too often and do not cover the treated area with a bandage or plaster.

It is a safe medicine with few side effects, but you may get a skin rash, itching, reddening, or burning of the skin. Occasionally, a skin rash may be a sign of a severe allergic reaction. Tell your doctor straight away if you get a rash with blistering. Myostat is not recommended if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, and you should not use it if you are already taking medicines containing diclofenac or other similar medicines.

How Myostat Gel Works

Myostat is a combination of five medicines : Diclofenac Diethylamine, Thiocolchicoside, Linseed Oil, Methyl Salicylate, and Menthol. Diclofenac diethylamine and Methyl Salicylate are non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) which work by blocking the release of chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling). Thiocolchicoside is a muscle relaxant. It works on the centers in the brain and spinal cord to relieve muscle stiffness or spasm and to improve pain and movement of muscles. Linseed Oil decreases swelling through its anti-inflammatory properties. Menthol produces a cooling effect on the skin. Menthol dilates the blood vessels causing a sensation of coldness, followed by an analgesic effect. Menthol also acts as a penetration enhancer, increasing the penetration of drugs when applied on the skin, to give a faster onset of action.
