Neopride Injection Reviews

Neopride is a medicine used in the treatment of gastrointestinal problems like functional dyspepsia, nausea, vomiting, and diabetic gastroparesis. It improves food movement and treats disorders of the stomach and intestines.

Neopride is taken by mouth with or without food. However, it is advisable to take it at the same time each day as this helps to maintain consistent level of medicine in the body. Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor and if you have missed a dose, take it as soon as you remember.

Some common side effects of this medicine includes headache and fatigue. It also causes dizziness and sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. You should immediately consult doctor if you have absence of periods, abnormal milk secretion, changes in sexual desire, or fever after taking this medicine.

How Neopride Injection Works

Neopride is an atypical antipsychotic. It works by increasing the release of acetylcholine (a chemical messenger). This increases the movement of stomach and intestines, and prevents reflux (acid going up to the food pipe) as well as nausea or vomiting. Since it modulates the motor function of the gastrointestinal tract, it also improves delayed gastric emptying.

How to Use Neopride Injection

Your doctor or nurse will give you this medicine. Kindly do not self administer.

Benefits of Neopride Injection

  • In Treatment of Diabetic gastroparesis (diabetic nerve disease affecting stomach): Diabetic gastroparesis is a condition in diabetic patients in which the stomach cannot empty digested food normally. Symptoms may include heartburn, nausea, vomiting, and feeling full faster than normal while eating. Neopride helps relieve these symptoms and restores normal movement of food in the stomach and intestines. This improves your digestion and makes you feel better.
  • In Treatment of Nausea: Neopride blocks the action of chemicals in the body that can make you feel or be sick. This medicine helps you feel better and at ease. It is given as an injection by a doctor and you should follow the doctor’s instructions carefully to get the most benefit from this medicine.
  • In Treatment of Functional dyspepsia: Functional dyspepsia is another term for indigestion that is not associated with a specific cause. It may cause symptoms such as an early feeling of fullness after eating, stomach pain or discomfort, nausea, and bloating. Neopride helps treat these symptoms by increasing the rate of stomach emptying. Some simple lifestyle changes can help stop or reduce these symptoms. Think about what foods trigger your symptoms and try to avoid them; eat smaller, more frequent meals; try to lose weight if you are overweight and try to find ways to relax. Do not eat within 3 to 4 hours of going to bed.
