Zevtaxel belongs to the general group of medicines called antineoplastics. It is used for the treatment of advanced prostate cancer. It works by interfering with the growth of cancer cells, which are eventually destroyed.
Zevtaxel is given under the supervision of a healthcare professional and should not be self-administered. Your doctor will decide what dose is necessary and how often you need to take it. This will depend on what you are being treated for and may change from time to time. You should take it exactly as your doctor has advised. Taking it in the wrong way or taking too much can cause very serious side effects. You should avoid drinking alcohol as it may increase your risk of liver damage.

Zevtaxel is an anti-cancer medication. It works by damaging the genetic material (DNA) of the cancer cells and stops their growth and multiplication.

- In Prostate cancer: Prostate gland is a small walnut-sized gland that produces a fluid called seminal fluid that nourishes and transports sperms in males. The most common symptom of prostate cancer is difficulty with urination, but sometimes there are no symptoms at all. Liver
CAUTION
Zevtaxel should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Zevtaxel may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Use of Zevtaxel is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.
Kidney

Zevtaxel is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Zevtaxel is recommended.Caution is advised in patients with severe kidney disease and end stage kidney disease as the information available is limited for use of this medicine in these patients.
Breast feeding
CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR
Zevtaxel is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
Driving
UNSAFE
Zevtaxel may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
