How Diprobate S Plus Ointment Works

Diprobate S Plus is a combination of three medicines: Betamethasone, Salicylic Acid and Zinc Oxide which treat eczema and psoriasis. Betamethasone is a steroid medicine. It blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy. Salicylic Acid is a keratolytic medicine which breaks down keratin clumps, removes dead skin cells and softens the skin. It also enhances the absorption of Betamethasone into the skin. Zinc Oxide has astringent and antiseptic action.

How to Use Diprobate S Plus Ointment

This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and gently massage the ointment.

Quick Tips

  • Apply to the affected areas as a thin film two or three times daily, or as advised by your doctor.
  • After you have applied Diprobate S Plus, remember to wash your hands (unless your hands are the treated area).
  • It is advisable to apply it once a day. For best effect, leave it on during the day if you have applied it in the morning, or overnight if you have used it in the evening.
  • Don't cover the area being treated with airtight dressings such as bandages unless directed by a doctor, as this may increase the risk of side effects.
  • Consult your doctor if your skin condition has not improved after 2 weeks of treatment.
  • Do not apply it on open wounds and cuts.
  • Diprobate S Plus is used to treat the redness, swelling, itching, and discomfort associated with psoriasis and eczema.
  • Do not apply it on your face unless your doctor has asked you to. If you have been told to use it on your face, be careful not to get any preparation near your eyes, and do not use it for longer periods of time than you have been advised.
