Answer

Question
How can I know that my child is having a worm infection?
It could be worm infection if your child complains of an itchy bottom (rectal area), difficulty sitting, fatigue, restless sleep due to anal itching, and persistent stomach pain with loss of appetite or frequent indigestion. Another sign of worm infection is pica in which you may notice your child eating inedible substances such as mud. Speak to your child’s doctor as soon as you notice any of these in your child. The doctor may suggest collecting your child’s stool and blood samples on 3 different days for examination. Depending upon the reports, the doctor will decide upon the treatment and prescribe your child with medicine.
Answer

Question
When should I call my child’s doctor right away?
Reach out to the doctor if your child complains of vision problems, puffy eyes, severe itching all over the body or experiences trouble walking or standing, trouble breathing, fast heart rate. You should also not neglect if your child feels disoriented or confused, exhibits loss of bowel control, or complains of neck pain soon after the intake of Vermikey Plus.

Question
How can my child become infected with intestinal worms?
Areas with poor sanitation may have soil that is contaminated with eggs of worms. Your child may also get infected by playing in the contaminated soil. When your child returns home after playing, ask them to clean up using soap and water. Transmission can also occur by drinking contaminated water or by eating contaminated vegetables and fruits without washing or peeling.
Answer

Vermikey Plus Oral Suspension Reviews

Vermikey Plus is an anti-worm medicine given to treat a multitude of parasitic worm infestations such as roundworm and tapeworm infections in children. It works by paralyzing and restraining the worms from absorbing the body's energy, leading to their eventual death.

Give Vermikey Plus to your child by mouth, preferably with a fat-containing food such as milk. This will help your child’s body absorb this medicine better. In case your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking Vermikey Plus, give the same dose again. Do not double the dose if it is time for the next dose. The duration of the treatment will depend on the type of worm your child is infected with.

Usually, it is given as a single dose. Your child’s doctor may prescribe repeating this dose after two weeks to prevent re-infection. However, some specific types of infections may require you to give this medicine to your child for a few days to weeks. In such a case, you must give this medicine for the exact prescribed number of days as stopping it too soon may cause re-infection.

Nausea, vomiting, dizziness, headache, abdominal pain, flatulence, loss of appetite, hair fall, mild fever, and sore throat are some of the common yet temporary side effects of this medicine. In some rare cases, this medicine may cause bleeding which is a serious side effect of this medicine. Make sure to report to your child’s doctor if these side effects persist or become bothersome or if your child experiences bleeding.

How Vermikey Plus Oral Suspension Works

Vermikey Plus is a mixture of two medicines: Ivermectin and Albendazole. Ivermectin works by binding to the muscle and nerve cells of worms, causing their paralysis and death. Albendazole works by keeping the worms from absorbing sugar (glucose), thereby depleting their energy level. This causes the worms to die, thereby treating your child’s infection effectively.

How to Use Vermikey Plus Oral Suspension

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Vermikey Plus is to be taken empty stomach.
