FAQ

Question
The mucus coming out of my child’s nose is yellow-green. Is it a sign of a bacterial infection?
In conditions like the common cold, the mucus changes its color and thickens up with time, but this does not mean that your child needs antibiotics. Common cold symptoms often last for 7-10 days. In case they fail to clear up within this duration, reach out to your child’s doctor for guidance.
Answer

Question

It is advised not to give Acticlox to children if they have jaundice. The reason being, Acticlox contains an active ingredient called cloxacillin which can aggravate the symptoms of jaundice in your child.
Answer

Question
Can other medicines be given at the same time as Acticlox?
Acticlox can sometimes interact with other medicines or substances. Inform your doctor about any other medicines your child is taking before starting Acticlox.
Answer

Question

Question
Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Acticlox?

However, children taking antibiotics should not get vaccinated until they fully recover from the illness. Post recovery from illness, the child can take the vaccine after consulting the doctor.
Answer

Question
Are there any possible serious side effects of Acticlox?
Although rare, Acticlox may cause some serious side effects such as persistent vomiting, kidney damage, allergy, diarrhea, and severe gastrointestinal infections. Always consult your child’s doctor for help in such a situation.
Answer

Question
Why has my child been prescribed Acticlox?
Acticlox contains two active antibiotics and one probiotic. Giving a combination of two antibiotics increases the efficiency of the medicine and helps in killing the resistant bacteria. The addition of probiotics helps reduce the side effects, such as diarrhea, which can occur due to the prolonged intake of antibiotics.
Answer

Question
Can I give Acticlox to my child repeatedly for a long time?
Giving your child Acticlox for a long-term can cause fungal infection (oral thrush) in the mouth and severe gastrointestinal infections (superinfections). Therefore, do not alter the dose and duration on your own and give Acticlox to your child exactly as prescribed. Additionally, irregular treatment, repeated use, and misuse of Acticlox can make the bacteria resistant.
Answer
Question
What if I forget to give Acticlox to my child?
Unless your child’s doctor has advised a specific regime for your child, you can give the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it’s almost time for the next dose. Do not give a double dose to catch up and follow the prescribed dosing schedule.

Acticlox Tablet DT Reviews

Acticlox treats a wide range of bacterial infections, including those of the ears, nose, sinus, tonsils, throat, lungs, heart, skin, and bones. It can also treat infections caused by resistant bacteria. The presence of probiotics helps in reducing the chance of getting side effects like diarrhea.

Give Acticlox either with or without food but it is best to give it with food if it upsets your child’s stomach. It is generally given three times a day. Stick to the dose, time, and way prescribed by the doctor as these depend on the severity of the infection, its type, and your child’s body weight and age. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking the medicine, repeat the dose when your child feels better. However, do not double the dose if it is the time for the next dose.

Acticlox can cause some minor and temporary side effects such as nausea, vomiting, headache, abdominal pain, and mild skin rash. These side effects should ideally subside on their own. But, in case these side effects persist or become bothersome for your child, report to the doctor without a delay.

Tell your child’s doctor if your child has had any previous episodes of allergy, heart problems, blood disorders, birth defects, airway obstruction, lung anomaly, gastrointestinal problem, skin disorder, and kidney malfunction. Knowledge of your child’s medical history will help the dose make dose alterations and plan your child’s overall treatment.

How Acticlox Tablet DT Works

Together, they eradicate your infection effectively. Lactobacillus is a live microorganism that restores the balance of good bacteria in the intestine that may get upset with antibiotic use or due to intestinal infections.

How to Use Acticlox Tablet DT
