Answer

Salitol Tablet Reviews

Salitol is a medicine used in the treatment of dry mouth especially in patients undergoing radiotherapy. It helps the salivary glands to produce more saliva when used for a long time as suggested by the doctor.

Salitol can be taken with or without food. Take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Take it regularly and at the same time each day to get the maximum benefit from the medicine. Continue taking the medicine even if you get better unless the doctor tells you to stop taking it. It is generally safe and does not usually cause any common side effects.

How Salitol Tablet Works

Xylitol tastes sweet but, unlike sugar, it is not converted in the mouth to acids that cause tooth decay. It reduces levels of decay-causing bacteria in saliva and also acts against some bacteria that cause tooth infections.

How to Use Salitol Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Salitol may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Benefits of Salitol Tablet

  • In Treatment of Dry mouth: Radiation therapy to the head, face, or neck may also cause dry mouth. It can take 6 months or longer after radiation therapy ends for the salivary glands to start producing saliva again. Salitol helps to increase the secretions of body fluids, particularly saliva and this helps to improve dry mouth due to radiation therapy. Take it as prescribed by the doctor to get the most benefit.
