How Gatidrops FP Eye Drop Works

Gatidrops FP is a combination of two medicines: Flurbiprofen and Gatifloxacin which treat eye infections. Flurbiprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling) in the eye. Gatifloxacin is an antibiotic. It kills bacteria by preventing them from reproducing and repairing themselves.

How to Use Gatidrops FP Eye Drop

This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the dropper close to the eye without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid. Wipe off the extra liquid.

Quick Tips

  • Use it twice a day (in the morning and the evening). If your symptoms are particularly severe, your doctor may suggest you use them up to four times a day.
  • Along with using Gatidrops FP, give warm compress to your eyes to get relief from itching and burning sensation.
  • Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute, immediately after putting in the medication. This will prevent the medication from draining out. Try not to blink or rub your eye.
  • Eye infections can cause your eyes to become more sensitive to sunlight than usual. Wearing sunglasses may help to prevent this.
  • Take care to avoid spreading the infection from one eye to the other, and to other members of your family. Washing your hands regularly (particularly after touching your eyes) and not sharing towels or pillows will help to prevent the infection from spreading.
  • Your doctor has prescribed Gatidrops FP to cure your eye infection and improve your symptoms.
  • Do not wear contact lenses until your infection clears up.
  • Wash your hands first before applying Gatidrops FP. To avoid contamination, do not touch the dropper tip or let it touch your eye or any other surface.
