How Sorifix Lotion Works

Sorifix is a combination of two medicines: Calcipotriol and Clobetasol which treat psoriasis. Calcipotriol is a form of vitamin D. It works by reducing the overproduction of skin cells that may build up and form scales on the skin. Clobetasol is a steroid which blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy.

How to Use Sorifix Lotion

This medicine is for external use only. Use this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Shake it well and apply to the area evenly.

Sorifix is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.

Sorifix may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.

Quick Tips

  • Do not apply it on open wounds and cuts.
  • Sorifix is used to treat the redness, swelling, itching, and discomfort associated with psoriasis.
  • Consult your doctor if your skin condition has not improved after 2 weeks of treatment.
  • Your skin may become more sensitive to sunlight than normal while you are using Sorifix. Try to avoid sitting out in the sun and do not use sunbeds.
  • Apply to the affected areas as a thin film two or three times daily, or as advised by your doctor.
  • Don't cover the area being treated with airtight dressings such as bandages unless directed by a doctor, as this may increase the risk of side effects.
  • It is advisable to apply it once a day. For best effect, leave it on during the day if you have applied it in the morning, or overnight if you have used it in the evening.
  • If you are using a moisturizer along with this preparation, apply the moisturizer first. Then wait 10-15 minutes before applying Sorifix.
